Dentures - Complete, Partial, & Custom
At Todd L. Jolly, DMD we use state-of-the-art technology to custom-design dentures for our patients so they look natural and feel comfortable for them.
Dentures help to replace missing teeth that have been damaged due to accident or some other reason. While dentures may help enhance your overall look and appearance, they also help to bring about good oral health.
It is important to bear in mind that after the denture has been placed in your mouth, you will need some time to adjust to it. During the first few days, you will experience some difference when you speak or eat, but this will change once you get used to your denture. Once this time has passed, you will often forget that you are even wearing them at all. Our team will do what they can to help ensure your dentures are as comfortable and functional as possible.
Dentures fall under two main categories: partials and complete. Which type you need will depend on a few variables. Here’s a brief look at each type:
These are removable dental appliances that are usually put in place to replace teeth that have been lost somehow. They are usually attached via a metal framework to the patient’s natural teeth. Partial dentures are ideal for those patients who just need to replace a few teeth or even just a single tooth. They can either be used on the lower or upper arch. Partial dentures need to be cared for very well as they can break easily and become dirty. They ought to be cleaned every day to eliminate any food particles or even plaque.
Complete dentures will be used in a scenario where you are missing all of your natural teeth. We will help you in the placement of complete dentures to assist you in restoring your teeth function as well as your appearance. If for any reason your denture lacks the needed stability and doesn’t chew and function properly, we can help you secure them with dental implants.
Regardless of which type of dentures you are having fitted, they will be made just for you. Our team will take an impression to get the exact shape of your mouth, and the denture will then be made so that it fits you perfectly. In addition to comfort, we will also help ensure that they are fully functional.
